Vintage Bookspines Christmas Cards
Before the advent of dust jackets, many books, especially those for children, were bound in brightly colored cloth with pictorial blocking in gold. Christmas books for children were especially festive, and thus made attractive gifts. Similarly, this colorful greeting card makes a great companion to any gift.
These die-cut, tri-fold cards feature a photographic image of a bookshelf in one of the University of Oxford’s Bodleian Libraries that is filled with classic Christmas books chosen for their striking and appealing design, illustration, and typography.
Inside reads: “Merry Christmas.”
The cards are designed and printed in Oxfordshire using stock from responsible forestry sources, essentially chlorine-free and fully recyclable. All inks are vegetable based.
Set of eight cards and envelopes. 4.88" x 6.75".
